Aims & Scope
Social Dynamics is the journal of the Centre for African Studies at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. It has been published bi-annually since 1975, and is committed to publishing interdisciplinary academic research, fostering debate and addressing current issues pertaining to the African continent. Articles cover the full range of humanities and social sciences including economics, sociology and anthropology, politics, history, literary and language studies, music, archaeology, education and psychology.
Social Dynamics is an accredited, peer-reviewed journal that runs symposia and publishes general papers. Articles appearing in Social Dynamics are indexed in the Social Science Citation Index and other abstracting and indexing services. The journal is edited by three academics, two from UCT and one from Stellenbosch University, and has received international recognition as a leading Africanist publication.
